Elliot Edem Agbenorwu Renominated For Ketu South MCE

The 2020 Constituted Vetting Committee of Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) in the Volta Region has recommended the reappointment of the incumbent Municipal Chief Executive Honourable Elliot Edem Agbenorwu.

The Members of the Dan Botwe Chaired 2020 Constituted Vetting Committee of Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) in the Volta Region have renominated incumbent Ketu South Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Mr Elliot Edem Agbenorwu to be appointed for the MCE for the second term.

The members of the committee in their report appealed to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to maintain Mr Agbenorwu as the Ketu South MCE to ensure peace and development in the area.

In a repoint, the members of the vetting Committee after vetting the prospective candidates vying for the position of the MCE in the Ketu South shortlisted three in the persons of Mr Agbenorwu, Mr Maxwell Koffie Lugudor and Mr Jarvis Koffie for the position of the MCE.

But the members of the vetting committee in their wisdom have recommended Mr Agbenorwu as the MCE for the second term of the area.

According to the report, Mr Agbenorwu worked effectively in the last elections for the percentage of the party to increase. 

The committee report noted that per his interaction, he can become the Parliamentary Candidate for the party in the next elections.

The report pointed out that the incumbent MCE is a Communication Team Member. 

Additional, the report asserted that Mr Agbenorwu was the constituency Assistant Secretary from 2009 to 2013, saying that he holds an MBA from KNUST and BA in Economics from the University of Cape Coast.

However, the recommendation for his re-appointment by the committee has reaffirmed the earlier call made to President Akufo-Addo by the majority of the youth including the traditional office holders, market women, religious leaders and members and supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Ketu South Municipality to maintain Mr Elliot Edem Agbenorwu to continue his good work to transform the area.

According to the inhabitants of the Ketu South, the MCE has historically maintained peace as well as a supervised major development in the municipality since his appointment in the year 2017 by President Akufo-Addo.

The residents thanked the president for the confidence he reposed in his first term in government by appointing him as MCE for the municipality.
