The opposition NDC has directed it members to halt all political activities in the Ejura constituency of the Ashanti region for the next one week.

The directive is to allow the party to mourn the death of seven of its supporters who got involved in an accident over the weekend.

This was made known in an interview with Deputy General Secretary for the NDC in the Ejura constituency, Samuel Kwa-Sam, made this known in an interview.

“So until a formal communique is out, no party faithful should organize a rally in the [Ejura] constituency for the next one week. The main motive is to sympathize and console the bereaved,” Kwa-Sam explained.

At least seven persons died in the crash involving a truck carrying NDC supporters at Ejura in the Ashanti Region.

Four bodies have since been buried according to Islamic laws, while two others are being preserved at the morgue.

More than 20 have been discharged while eight others have been referred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching and the Duayaw Nkwanta Hospitals respectively.
