Muslims across Ghana joined the global Islamic community in celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan In Gonse Agape Down, Sariki Ahmed Abass, the Chief of Zongo, led the local Muslim community in prayers, expressing gratitude to Allah for the strength granted to them throughout their fasting period.

Sariki Ahmed Abass extended well wishes to the President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, the National Chief Imam, all Zongo chiefs, Sariki Musah Isul, and other leaders. He also acknowledged the dedication of imams during the fasting period, praying for their long life and continued guidance.

Beyond the celebrations, Sariki Ahmed Abass called on the government to address critical challenges facing the people of Gonse Agape Down and its surrounding areas. He highlighted the urgent need for improved access to water, better roads, and additional equipment for the local CHPS compound to enhance healthcare delivery.

Similarly, Imam Tobodu Abdullah, the Chief Imam of Gbawe Gonse, emphasized that fasting serves as a divine training, teaching Muslims discipline, generosity, and the fear of Allah. He urged the faithful to uphold these values in their daily lives even after Ramadan.

Imam Abdullah also offered prayers for national leaders, including the President, Vice President, Chief Imam, Zongo chiefs, and Sariki Ahmed Abass, asking for Allah’s protection and guidance as they lead the nation.
