Eid-fitr: Jaman South Imam calls for amendment in Islamic holidays

The Chief Imam of Jaman South Municipal of the Bono Region, Alhaji Suleman Dawuda  at the prayers to end the Municipal Ramadan 30 days fasting made a passionate appeals for the 1992  constitution to be amended to give more days in the holidays  for the celebration of the Eid.

The Chief Imam of Jaman South Municipal of the Bono Region, Alhaji Suleman Dawuda at the prayers to end the Municipal Ramadan 30 days of fasting made a passionate appeal for the 1992  constitution to be amended to give more days in the holidays for the celebration of the Eid.

In an interview with Sorienews correspondent Opamago Paparichy, the Chairman of the Imman Council Alhaji Osman on behalf of the Municipal Chief Imman Alhaji Suleman Dawuda said, expressed worry over the one day reserved for such a memorable occasion in the Islamic calendar.

He said," he Edir-Fitr is celebrated by all Muslims  across the globe but  the problem is that only one holiday is not enough for us"

 He is therefore appealing to the government to amend their holidays to favor those who travel from big cities to visit their family at home to celebrate with them with a short visit

He prayed for Ghana and the people of Jaman South Municipal to be united and work for development in the Municipality.

On his part, the Jaman South Zongo Chief, Alhaji Megge also advised Zongo youths to focus on their education to become good leaders in the future than to allow themselves for menial jobs.


The Twafo Hene of Mpuasu Japekrom Traditional Council, Nana Takyi Abeam also on behalf of the Omanhene, Okatakyie Amoah Aturu Konkontwea of Mpuasu Japekrom Traditional council said, all Muslims, Christian's and other Traditional religions are one people and they should allow peace to prevail among themselves. 

He asked for unity and oneness among the people and also prayed for Jaman South Municipality's peace and development the only way the lives of the people can be transformed.
