The Dormaa West District Education Directorate has appealed to the District Chief Executive for the area, Hon Francis Kwadwo Oppong to as a matter of urgency furnish the Directorate with Teachers' bungalows, District Education office Director's permanent residence amongst other things to Forster education in the area.

The Dormaa West District Education Directorate has appealed to the District Chief Executive for the area, Honorable Francis Kwadwo Oppong to as a matter of urgency furnish the Directorate with Teachers' bungalows, District Education office Director's permanent residence amongst other things to Forster education in the area.


“We are grateful for your visit, it shows how committed you are towards education. We as a directorate will want to however appeal on your outfit to consider our teacher's bungalow in your budget to enables teachers to have better accommodation for a peaceful mindset for teaching”, he said.
The Dormaa West District Education Director,  Rev. Fr. Kingsley Dwamena Asante made the call when the DCE for the area Hon. Francis Kwadwo Oppong took his feminization visit to Education Directorate to interact with the directorate for first-hand information on the progress of the Directorate and the problems it is confronted with. 

Responding to their plea, the  DCE pledged his support for the Directorate and assured them that all the challenges brought before him will be addressed in due course. 
“My outfit even though faced with funding challenges, will do everything within our power to address your concerns raised”, the DCE assured.

Hon. Francis Kwadwo Oppong seized the opportunity to inspect the Dormaa West Examination Centre being built by the Assembly which is about 70% complete.
He commended the progress of the project and assured full completion in due course.
Dormaa West with its capital Nkrankwanta was carved from Dormaa and forms part of the new districts and municipalities created in the year 2012 and was inaugurated at their various locations simultaneously on the 28th June 2012. President H.E. J.E.A Mills, by an Executive Instrument (E.I), created 46 new Districts. 
All the inaugurated and confirmed MMDAs established are operational with immediate effect hence bringing the total number of MMDAs to 216.
 These new creations arose as a result of the large size of some of the then 170 MMDAs which was not one way or the other allowing the government to fully implement its policies of local governance to the benefit of the entire citizenry. 
The population of the district according to the 2010 population and housing census stands at 50,871 With 23,970 males 26,901 female
