EC cautions against false Gazzetted Parliamentary results

The Electoral Commission of Ghana has denied the authenticity of an official publication of the 2020 parliamentary election results trending on social media.

In a press release by the Electoral body on Thursday, December 24, the Gazzetted document is false and should not be patronized by the public due to its content defined to be misleading.

“The Electoral Commission’s attention has been drawn to a document being mischievously shared on social media purporting to be the Gazzetted results of the 2020 Parliamentary elections. The document is not authentic and should be disregarded.

The statement revealed that “the Gazzetted results of the 2020 Parliamentary results can be purchased at the Assembly Press.”

“The General public should not place any premium on the document circulating on social media since its false, this is circulated to mislead the public and discredit the Commission,” it added.
