Eastern Region. Suhum Kyikyiwire Chief Pledges Allegiance to Okuapemman...Becomes Ambassador of Akwapem.

The acting President of Akwapem Traditional Council, Otubuo Djan Kwasi(Ii), Akuapem Adontenhene who also is Aburimanhene, conferred on Okunini Gyebi Ababio, the Akuapem Ambassadorial Chief, saying that he was impressed with the outstanding performance of Okunini, who has served in many categories as Police officer both in Ghana and The United Nations.

The newly enstooled Chief of Suhum Kyikyiwire, in the Ayensuano Constituency of the Eastern Region, Okunini Gyebi Kwame Ababio, over the weekend went to Okuapemman fie, to officially pledge his allegiance to Chiefs and Traditional heads of the Akwapim Traditional Council.

The ceremony that brought almost all the Divisional chiefs as well as Queenmothers to the Okuapemman fie, which is the seat of Okuapehene, is the final stage of the coronation of Okunini Gyebi Kwame Ababio who became Chief of Kyikyiwire, exactly a month ago.

As custom demands, the people of Kyikyiwire are descendants of Larteh Akwapem, and so after ascending the throne, Okunini had to go to Larteh, which is the seat of Akwapem Benkum division where he swore allegiance to Osaberima Okoh Ayeh, who is Chief of Larteh and occupant of Akwapem Benkum seat.

After which, Osaberimah brought him to Akropong Akwapem, to pledge to the entire Okuapemman.

Otubuo Djan Kwasi, charged Okunini to bring all the scattered states of Akuapem around Kyikyiwire together and ensure their well-being and bring development to them.

On his part, Okunini Gyebi Kwame Ababio promised Okuapemman to give out his best in ensuring development for his people. He promised to avail himself to the Chiefs and people of Okuapemman always accept sickness and death.

Among the dignitaries who accompanied him to Okuapemman fie were Honorable Nana Yaw Teddy, Member of Parliament for Ayensuano Constituency, and Honorable Dorcas Toffey, member of parliament for Jomoro constituency in the Western Region.
