The St. Anthony’s Hospital at Dzodze in the Ketu North Municipality of the Volta Region has taken delivery of a huge consignment of medical equipment and consumables valued at dozens of thousands of Ghana Cedis.

The latest donation has been described as a major boost to the hospital’s healthcare delivery services to its numerous clients in its large catchment area.

The hospital which is currently playing the role of a Municipal Health facility provides general, orthopaedic and other specialized services to the thousands of patients who always seek healthcare services at the facility.

The donation came about as a result of a joint effort of SOSSAH and its partners including Madam Annemieke de Bruijckere, the Administrator of the hospital, Mr Raphael Tumawu, the Dutch Rotary Club Roosendaal-Donkenland from the Netherlands as well as Wilde Ganzen amongst others.

The items would go a long way to positively impact the healthcare needs of the clients. It is also expected that the equipment and medical supplies would also boost the morale of the entire health staff of the hospital to give off their best to the patients.

As part of the hospital’s commitment to the process, the Management Team paid some duties on the consignment while the Dutch Rotary Club also responded to the Hospital’s appeal for the payment of the demurrage and other associated costs.

The equipment and consumables are expected to be used to retool the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Maternity, Operating Theatre as well as the Pediatric Ward of the facility in order to improve care and support to its clients some of whom come far and near including neighbouring Togo and La Cote d‘Ivoire.
