Dumsor Will Be a Thing of the Past- ECG 

The Business Center Engineer of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), James Frying Fosu has disclosed on Shaft FM monitored by Soiree News24 that erratic power cuts popularly known as 'Dumsor' will be a thing of the past, pending the company's renovation of old wires.

In the interview, Mr. Fosu said "We have taken notice of recent power cuts in Obuasi and its environs, we're working assiduously to make it a thing of the past" 

He said the center is almost done with changing some obsolete wires that causes the power cut "we're almost done with changing the obsolete wires that cause power cuts and also, all our wires are in the air and we want a situation where we can wire it beneath the earth so no tree or other things can fall on it to break it as most of our wires to go through people's farms," he said.

He further called on the residents of Obuasi and its adjourning communities to remain calm as they seek redress to the challenges of electricity as erratic power cuts have become relatively excessive in the past weeks.
