Driver Vehicle and Licensing Authority to Revoke Reckless V8 Users Roadworthy.

The Driver Vehicle and Licensing Authority (DVLA) has revealed that the authority has resolved to introduce a regime to revoke the roadworthy of reckless V8 vehicle users who drive recklessly on Ghanaian roads.

The measure, he noted, will be carried out when there is compelling evidence which indicates that it was this V8 car that drive recklessly to cause road accidents or any kind of recklessness.

The Central Regional Manager of DVLA, Pastor Lawrence Adom stated that one of the major concerns of the authority is the attitude of V8 car users on the road, with wrong overtaking, overspending and wrong use of sirens.

According to Regional Manager, most of the accidents that sometimes occur on our roads are also caused by reckless V8 car users at this time the authority wants to weed out all the unworthy V8 users in the system.

"What we at the DVLA will be doing in the years ahead, will be in collaboration with the Motor Transport and Traffic Department (MTTD) and the National Road Safety Authority (NRSA) to monitor the various highways to find out the reckless V8 vehicle users to make sure their roadworthy is revoked if caught in wrong overtaking with a recorded evidence and if enough evidence establishes that a V8 was the cause of that incident, we will have a policy that will lead to the revocation or suspension of that car roadworthy and as a matter of fact, driving on the road without roadworthy is also an offence”, he noted.

He further cautions those big men in the country to stop interfering and intimidating the staff of DVLA whenever they are carrying out their official duty on the road to ensure the safety of road users.

He finally added that the Central regional branch of the Driving Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) is going to strengthen traffic enforcement teams on the road to intensify their work so that when someone violates any of the Authority Regulations LI, the law will be allowed to deal with such a person.
