A spiritualist, Nana Okuoba Gyasi has threatened to consult his deity to bring punishment upon the authorities of Achimota school who shortened the dreadlocks of his Daughter who gained admission into the School.

He however insisted that there is a strong backing for his decision to allow the hair of his children not to be shaved, saying it is a covenant he made with God before his children were born.

Sighting his example from the Bible on the story of Samuel, he said those involved will be punished by his god as he is working towards achieving that.

The Father of a girl from Sunyani who gained admission to the Achimota School was asked to cut her dreadlocks when she was about to take her picture for the National Health Insurance Scheme card upon admission.

According to him, her daughter tried to resist the School authority's approach stating that she will need the approval of the Father before making any decision but the school's authorities resisted.

He however highlighted that, if the headmistress of Achimota School was a male teacher all these wouldn’t have happened because throughout human history, God has not used women as leaders and that is the reason why all those are happening in the school.

He called on all well-meaning Ghanaians to rally behind them in the fight for the freedom of those who believe in Rastafarianism and dreadlocks to be behind them for the freedom from this kind of oppression towards them.
