Some Youth in the New Patriotic Party in Dormaa West is kicking against the candidature of Mr Agyei Ameyaw Stephen popularly Known as “Bogger” over non-commitment to the Party in the constituency.

A spokesperson for the group who is the constituency organizer for the NPP in Dormaa west, Balla Mohammed in a press conference alleged that Mr Agyei Ameyaw Stephen did not vote in the constituency in the 2012 general election and was not involved in the 2020 campaign hence the call on the President to reject his nomination and appointment.

According to them, party faithful who have sacrificed their time and money can bring back the NPP to power. Such he believe deserves to be awarded positions, not those who just appear when the victory comes.

The party executives also alleged that the candidate has been abusing the party’s communicators who speak against his candidature on radio and has been threatening them with his brother, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) James Oppong Boanu hence describing him as a dictator who will not seek for the interest of the party but himself.

So far, seven people have filed to contest for the Dormaa West District Chief Executive (DCE) position.

These are, Honourable Francis K. Oppong, the incumbent Presiding Member for the District’s Assembly, Mr Steven Adjei Ameyaw, Amankwaa Ernest, Amoabeng Emmanuel, the former and acting DCE, Hon. Mary Ameyaa, Amidu Aliu Musah and Ata Amponsah-Frimpong .
