Residents of New Dormaa,  a suburb in the Dormaa Central Municipality of the Bono Region is threatening to boycott the 2024 December general elections if the rehabilitation project on the road that links them to the Dormaa township is not completed.

The residents in an interview with Soiree News noted that the contractor was steadily working on the few months to the 2020 general elections. According to them, he has abandoned the project for some time now, leaving the road more deplorable than before.

They said the current nature of the road has also put the lives of the residents in danger as their houses get flooded whenever it rains.

They are therefore calling on authorities to call for the return of the contractor to the site to complete the project or they will boycott the 2024 general elections.

Meanwhile, in an engagement with the Assembly Member for Atoase Electoral Area, Honourable Amhed Sekou said, even though the concerns of the resident are halfway through, the current DCE, Honourable Iddrissah Oattarra has been working tirelessly to ensure the completion of the project.

He said, the only restraint now is financial difficulty but the Assembly is working hard to bring back the contractor to the site.
