Divorce is not a crime, you can marry 50 times - Yul Edochie
Yul Edochie, a Nollywood actor and self-styled cleric, has expressed his views on divorce.
The controversial movie actor stated that there is nothing wrong with leaving a failed marriage, emphasizing that people can marry 50 times if it works for them.
He stated that when it comes to marriage, it is all about the individual's pleasure, not public opinion.
In a recent interview with White Pearl Studios, Edochie remarked that it is acceptable to be single if it makes one happy.
He stated, "For me, marriage is not a do-or-die situation. If you notice it's not working, walk away politely. You do not have to hurt each other. And when you walk away and see the next person and decide to marry, go ahead and do it. If there is no job again, leave. If you see another one, get married. If there is no job again, leave. You can marry 50 times as long as it suits you.
"You cannot control how others react to you. And what makes me happy differs from what makes you happy. Don't allow anyone tell you what's best for you. Figure out what works for you. And if you chose in this life, you will not marry till you die, please do. Be happy.”
Yul Edochie made news a few years back after his contentious second marriage to Judy Austin. His first wife, May Edochie, petitioned for divorce, but the actor reportedly rejected it.
The protracted divorce case, which has piqued netizens' curiosity, is yet to be resolved.
