The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Birim South District Assembly in the Eastern Region, Mr. Asare Danso, has appealed to Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Damparto post more men into the district for effective policing.

The DCE further urged IGP to make conscious efforts to increase the number of police stations in the area to ensure law and order.
This, he stressed would ensure peace and security and pave way for socio-economic development in the district.
According to the DCE, the number of police stations and personnel in the district were inadequate to stem the insurgence of robbery and economic crimes in the area.

He pointed out that when it comes to security matters, the district is very peaceful and security conscious although the number of police personnel are few.
Mr Danso made the appeal when joined the Member of Parliament (MP) for Akyem Swedru Constituency, Honourable Osei Nyarko Kennedy to commission a new police station building funded with government MP's common fund for the good people of Akyem Aduasa.
The construction of the station formed part of the MP's vision to beef up security system for his constituents together with his District Chief Executive (DCE), Mr Asare Danso.
Speaking to the media during the commissioning of the police station building, Mr. Kennedy stated that although there is hardship in the country but as a competent government led by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is doing everything possible to meet the needs of the citizens which has been his motivation to also get his constituents their share of the national cake in terms of infrastructure development.

He appealed to the good people of Akyem Aduasa to exercise patience for the government concerning their main road from Akyem Swedru to Akyem Aduasa as the contractor will be resuming work on ending of this month January.
He added that he would do all his best to ensure that their road construction work is completed before the 2023 ends.
The Akyem Oda police divisional commander; Reverred Dr. Adane Ameyaw  called on chiefs, MP, DCE and all the people of Akyem Aduasa to get involve in ensuring good security in the area.
He advised all police personnel who will be working in the community to desist from any bad behaviors which doesn't correspond with their work.
