Man City are reportedly interested in signing Danny Ings as a potential successor to Sergio Aguero this summer.

According to Scottish former footballer, Ally McCoist it would be a good move for the Premier League leaders.

Aguero’s contract is up this summer and the Premier League leaders are said to be looking at replacements.

Southampton striker Ings is said to be seen as an ‘attainable’ option for City with Erling Haaland’s value at more than £100million and the likes of Man United, Chelsea and Real Madrid also in the race.

Ings will also be entering the final year of his deal with the Saints with the two clubs unable to strike terms on a new contract so far.

talkSPORT reported last month that a disagreement between Ings and the club over the size of his release clause is holding up that potential new long-term deal, with City now circling.
