The Dagombaline in Kumasi was hit by a strong fire outbreak on Friday, Febraury 14, 2020 leading to loss of properties although no casualties were recorded.

The slum is a densely populated area, dominated by head porters and scrap dealers, most of whom have travelled from the northern part of the country to seek greener pastures.

The cause of fire has not yet be discovered yet according to eyewitness report, the inferno could have been contained if there were enough access routes to their makeshift building to allow the Ghana National Fire Service to get closer to the scene.

The fire started at 4pm whiles most of the residents were still at work. Electricity supply to the area was cut off, a situation, which affected neighboring communities like, Aboabo Number one, Asawase and Afful Nkwanta.
