Erstwhile Manchester City ace Trevor Sinclair says the Portugal star - Cristiano Ronaldo’s impact at Manchester City would have been much better and bigger than the impact he will have at Manchester United.

The transfer of Cristiano Ronaldo from Juventus to the Red Devils has re-ignited the rivalry between United and City.

It was openly reported in the media that the Portuguese talisman was heading towards the Etihad side only for a shocking twist of turn in the last hour.

Ex-Citizen star Trevor has shared his own opinion on the Manchester rivals and is understandable he is taking side with City judging from where he is coming from.

“I feel his impact at Manchester City would have been huge.

“They haven’t got a striker, they need one, the possession and the number of chances they carve out and don’t get finished because they haven’t got an out and out striker such as Sergio Aguero or someone like Cristiano Ronaldo.

“Of course he would have been a better fit at Man City, Man United have got Edinson Cavani, who does a very similar job.

“I’m sure Manchester United fans are delighted that he’s gone to Manchester United, but whether he’s gonna change their whole season I don’t think that’s the case, he could have been massive for Manchester City.

“I think I would have been more disappointed in Ronaldo’s legacy if he chose Manchester City.

“He is a Manchester United great, for him then to go to Manchester City, I think a lot of Manchester United fans wouldn’t have had him.”

It’s set to be an extremely exciting season for the club and Red Devils supporters as they welcome back one of their greats.

Alongside Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane, Man United are in a great position to end their trophy drought and potentially bring back their first league title since 2013.

Ronaldo could also make his second debut after the international break when he will hope to feature against Newcastle United at Old Trafford.
