The National Ambulance Service’s Bay at Awutu Bereku in the Awutu Senya West District of the central region has finally been commissioned following a soireenews report.

The edifice which had its air-conditioner outdoor motors, sockets, and lamp holders stolen by miscreants earlier on has been put to shame and handed over to the service.

Since 2020 when the 1 constituency, 1 ambulance policy was rolled out, constituents of Awutu Senya West had to mainly rely on the services of private ambulance services and taxis during emergency health cases.

The situation was caused by the lack of an ambulance bay to serve as an office for paramedic staff and a parking place for the ambulance.

Miscreants of the town took over the edifice and had its electrical installations such as air conditioner outdoor motors, lamp holders, and sockets are stolen.

Finally, residents can heave a sigh of relief as the edifice has been commissioned after soireenews Reporter on the theft incidences.

At the ceremony, the Director of Operations for the Ghana National Ambulance Service, Forster Ansong Birigyan bemoaned the rate at which the service receives prank calls.

According to him, about 80 percent of calls received by the service in the previous year were pranks.

He described it as an impediment to effective service delivery and thus called on the general public to desist from such an act.

Meanwhile, Chief the Executive of the Awutu Senya West District, Joseph Aidoo called on users of the facility to observe maintenance culture in order to allow the facility to serve its intended purpose.

He said, government’s agenda to prioritize health is on course within his district.
