Covid-19: Two More Die in Ghana, as Active Cases climbs to 4,766

Ghana’s death toll of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) has risen to thirty-four (34) as two more persons succumb to the virulent disease.

This was disclosed by the Ghana Health Service (GHS) on Tuesday [May 26, 2020] via its official website for Covid-19 updates.

Per the latest update, Ghana’s covid-19 case count has also risen to 7,117 as 153 new cases were recorded.

The Covid-19 recovery count in the country stands at 2,317 as 220 more patients, tested negative twice for the disease.

However, considering the high overall case count, recoveries, and death toll, the number of active Covid-19 cases in Ghana stands at 4,766.

In related development, the Western Region in Ghana has come under the radar of health officials as the new Covid-19 hostpot in the country.

The Director-General of the Ghana Health Service, Dr Patrick Kuma Aboagye said the region has seen a sudden spike in covid-19 cases.

Dr Kuma Aboagye said a team has been deployed to the area, to help in managing the pandemic situation as done in the Ashanti Region.
