COVID-19: Plateau State Tops List As Nigeria Records 143 New Cases
"Till date, 54008 cases have been confirmed, 41638 cases have been discharged and 1013 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory," NCDC reveals.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 143 new COVID-19 cases in 17 states and the federal capital territory (FCT).
Plateau topped the list of states with new cases for the seventh consecutive day with 35 positive samples, followed by Kaduna with 21 and Lagos with 19.
Though today’s figures are slightly higher than the 138 recorded on Sunday, the curve has continued to flatten out in the nation.
Lagos, the epicenter of the deadly virus, has continued to see fewer cases. It reported only 19 cases today.
NCDC tweeted: "Till date, 54,008 cases have been confirmed, 41,638 cases discharged and 1,013 deaths recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory."
However, the 143 cases reported on Monday were recorded in 18 states- Plateau-35, Kaduna-21, Lagos-19, FCT-13, Ebonyi-9, Adamawa-7, Enugu-7, Katsina-7, Edo-6, Kwara-5, Osun-3, Anambra-2, Kano-2, Niger-2, Ogun-2, Benue-1, Borno-1, Sokoto-1.
Meanwhile, Nigeria hit a major low in its daily figure of recoveries for August with 125 patients discharged on Monday.
The NCDC confirmed the new recoveries in its update for August 31, 2020.

The number of recoveries for Monday is the lowest in six weeks — the last time the country recorded less than 130 in its daily count of discharged patients was on July 14 when 121 people were confirmed to have recovered.
Although the figure of discharged patients increased slightly from 41,513 to 41,638, no death was recorded for Monday, leaving the fatality toll at 1,013, while Nigeria has now crossed the 54,000 mark in its tally of confirmed cases.
Out of more than 400,000 samples tested, 54,008 cases have now been confirmed in 36 states and the FCT.
