Covid-19: Jaman North records 13 cases, 4 deaths

Three health workers were also reported to have tested positive for the coronavirus in the Jaman North District.

The Jaman North District has recorded 13 cases of COVID-19 with four (4) deaths, the District Health Director, Mr Jacob Kwadwo Aleeba has disclosed.

According to him, his outfit has taken 72 samples from suspected individuals for test of which 45 samples are ready.

About three (3) health workers were also reported to have tested positive for the virus.

He however attributed the death of the 4 people to old age and other underlying health conditions.

Ghana has begun the mass vaccination against the coronavirus today.

This will mark the deployment of the 600,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccines which were manufactured by the Serum Institute of India.

Meanwhile, the vaccination of covid-19 rollout is to be conducted in 43 districts with high infection rates. They include 25 in the Greater Accra Region, 16 in the Ashanti Region, and two in the Central Region.

The Ghana Health Service has also outlined the COVID-19 vaccination centres across Accra for the persons within the first segment targeted for vaccination.

These include healthcare workers, frontline security personnel, persons with underlying medical conditions, persons 60 years and above, and frontline members of the Executive, Legislature and Judiciary.
