COVID-19: Ghana’s Death toll hits 248; Active Cases Increase

Ghana’s COVID-19 death toll has increased to 248, after nine more persons receiving treatment die from the disease.

Per the latest update from the Ghana Health Service (GHS) on Tuesday, August 18, the country has recorded 340 new cases pushing the national case tally to 42, 993.

With the recovery count pegged at 40,796, Ghana currently has 1,949 active COVID-19 cases.

From the active cases, three patients are on ventilator support, while six remain critical with 16 others in a severe situation.

So far 428,695 COVID-19 tests have been conducted in the country.
