COVID-19: Ghana Records 641 New Cases, Tally now 23,463

Ghana’s case count of the COVID-19 disease has increased by 641 to 23,463.

This comes shortly after the Ghana Health Service (GHS) reported 854 cases via its official website.

The Director-General of the Ghana Health Service, Dr Patrick Kuma-Aboagye who announced the new development, at a press briefing today [July 9, 2020] said the new cases were recorded in 52 districts across eight regions;

The Greater Accra Region accounted for 388 of the new cases which are in 16 out of 29 districts.

The Ashanti Region had 148 new cases from 18 out of 43 districts.

Dr Patrick Kuma-Aboagye noted that, the clinical recoveries of the disease has increased to 18,622, with the death toll still pegged at 129.

This brings the active COVID-19 cases to 4,717.

From the active cases, 26 are in severe conditions, while 8 are in critical conditions and are on ventilators.
