The Bono East Regional Health Director, Dr Fred Adomako Boateng has urged all the populaces of Ghana especially Bono East Region to avail themselves for the COVID-19 vaccine. 

According to him, covid-19 cases are gradually surging, therefore, it is expedient for inhabitants to embrace the education of the vaccine and take it seriously.

Mr Adomako Boateng added that anyone eligible person should get vaccinated by so doing would help Bono East Region to contain the spread. Moreover, he said organizations such as churches, mosques, many others can arrange with the health officials for vaccination.

He explained the rate at which COVID-19 in the Bono East Region has arisen to puking that 2,552 (two thousand five hundred and fifty-two) COVID-19 cases are being recorded in the year 2020 and 2021 respectively of which 710 were recorded in just a single month thereby making Bono East Region one the most affected areas in Ghana. 

According to Dr Boateng, In the year  2020 Bono East Region recorded 788 COVID-19 cases with 14 death thus in the first wave. But the  COVID-19 cases in 2021 was very alarming, the region recorded 1764 of which 49 people lost their lives.

As we speak now, Bono East Region has only two active cases with one in a very critical situation and the other in a severe situation.
