Court Remands Two Notorious  Landguards Who Allegedly Burnt  Block Factory In Gomoa Nyanyano

The Ofankor District Circuit Court in the Central Region presided over by His Lordship, Mr. Ebenezer Osei Darko on Thursday, January 6, 2022, remanded into the police custody of the two notorious land guards in connection with the burning down of a block factory at Gomoa Nyanyano near Kasoa.

The two suspects, Mr. Eliasu and Hassan Amidu who were charged for the assault were remanded into police custody for two weeks to appear in court on January 20, 2022.

According to sources, the gunmen stormed the site around 3:00 am on Sunday and assaulted the watchmen who fled by jumping over the facility’s wall.

The two suspects, Mr. Eliasu and Hassan Amidu who were in police custody, according to the information soireenews.com are likely to face charges of arson and damaging properties.

The report revealed that workers were not at the site because of the holidays and no injuries were reported.

The sources indicated that Mr. Eliasu and Amidu Hassan are expected to be charged under the criminal offense act which protects sites of strategic importance.

According to the sources, the damage of a bricks machine and demolishing of the property began immediately after one Salisu was arrested by the Central- East regional police after they claim he’s a standing block on their way.

Speaking in an interview with the media, the stool secretary of Gommoa Fetteh, Nana Gyasehene Eric Duodoo expressed his sadness at the destruction of the home of our democracy.”

He added that all efforts would be made to limit the disruption to its work.

He stated that when he visited that site he sighted that news of the fire and the demolishing of l building was a very terrible incident.

The footage from the scene on Monday showed a plum of black smoke with flames coming out from the bricks machine.
