The Mamponteng Magistrate court has remanded into prison custody, a 35-year-old Kwaku Agyemang.

The trotro driver who was slapped with four (4) charges is expected to reappear before the court on 12th August 2021.

The charges, according to His Lordship Thomas Boadi Soyori, the presiding court judge, were; murder, causing harm, attempt to murder and causing unlawful act.

Kwaku Agyemang who accused his wife of infidelity set his room ablaze whiles the wife and their kids including twins were inside the room. Kwaku had one female child with his wife and intended to kill her and the other twin siblings who were not his biological children. 

After he had set the house ablaze, the culprit decided to rescue his only daughter from death; he entered the room to pick the three(3) year Blessing Abenaa Aninwaa, but luck eluded his side as the fire caught him leading to his severe injury.

His wife, Patience Kyeremateng aka Mother and one of the twin siblings, Princess Oti were severely burnt to a higher degree of injuries. Prince Oti, a male among the twins died instantly. The last child, Blessing Abenaa Aninwaa was the only person who remained unhurt.

The fire which spread through to the entire house destroyed all properties of the other tenants.

Kwaku Agyemang, the trotro driver was subsequently arrested after being admitted at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital and has since been appearing before the Mamponteng Magistrate court.

He appeared before the court on Wednesday and was asked to find himself a lawyer and reappear before the court on 12th August 2021.
