The Wenchi Magistrate Court Presided over by His Wordship Issah Abdul Wahab on Wednesday ordered that a 42 year - old businessman Twene Kwasi Peter be remanded 2 weeks into police custody for an attempted rape.
 Cntrary to sections 18 and 97 of ACT 29/60 , Unnatural knowledge carnal contrary to sections 104 of ACT 1960  Threat of harm contrary to sections 74 of ACT 1960.
Police Prosecutor, Chief Inspector Victor Samaji, told the court that the complainant of the case is one Elizabeth Frimpong a resident at Yabraso a farming community in the Tain District of the Bono Region.

Chief Inspector Victor Samaji explained to the court that Elizabeth Frimpong a Senior High School student reported the case at the police station.

The victim reported that on 12 February,2022 at about 7:00 pm she was at the roadside waiting for a car to go to Nsawkaw.

The businessman, Twene Kwasi Peter returning from Bamboi in the Bole -  Bamboi District of the Savannah Region to Sampa, driving a blue VW Golf saloon car with registration number,GT 8251 - 11 at about 7: 00 pm saw the complainant, Elizabeth Frimpong at the roadside and gave her a lift. 

On their way to Nsawkaw the suspect started touching the victim and she asked him to stop for she don't like that the Prosecutor told the court.

He told the court that Twene Kwasi Peter reportedly held the girl if she refused to heed to his orders.

Chief Inspector Victor Samaji further told the court that the suspect was then arrested by the police and upon the police interogation the suspect admitted for committing the act.

He was then charged with three counts, attempted to commit crime namely rape, unnatural knowledge carnal and threat of harm.

The businessman, Twene Kwasi Peter pleaded guilty of the charges 

His Wordship Issah Abdul Wahab ordered that the suspect be remanded 2 weeks into police custody and adjourned the case until 2nd March,2022.
