Ghanaian superstar singer Stonebwoy has cancelled his tour tagged the "Stonebwoy Live in New York" concert which was scheduled for Friday, March 13, 2020.

This is as a result of the novel conovirus which has caused a ban on the indefinite gatherings of more than 500 people by New York Officials. 

The ban is just one of the many drastic measures that have been implemented to try and curb the spread of the coronavirus. The restrictions announced by Governor Andrew M. Cuomo on Thursday came as the number of infections in the state tripled since Sunday. 

With dozens of cases arising in New York City, where millions of residents brush by each other everyday, and millions of others flood in to view it's sparkling cultural scenes, the measures have been much needed. 

The mayor has sought to calm the fears of New Yorkers over the recent outbreak for weeks, resisting. Calls to close schools or cancel large scale events such as the St. Patrick's Day Parade. 
He has been urging New Yorkers to continue to live their daily normal lives.

His tone has now shifted dramatically on Thursday, as he now voices the threat that the virus possesses. Suggesting that there would be a sharp increase in the number of affected individuals by the next week. He claims the number might be up to a thousand. 

A statement has been released by Stonebwoy on Friday morning, it said  "the team tried everything in our ability to make the show happen, however the government has restricted every large gathering at this time as seen on every major news".

According to the statement, the show has now been postponed indefinitely, as it new tour dates now directly depend on when the ban will be lifted.
