Atletico Madrid have put contract negotiations with midfielder Thomas Partey on hold as the Spanish giants wait to see full impact of the coronavirus crisis on the current season.

The Madrid based club want to extend Partey`s deal, with the midfielder having just two remaining years in his contract.

Lot of clubs including Manchester United and Arsenals are interested in landing Partey in their respective clubs.

The new deal is gradually wading off as a result of the interest from the Premier League clubs.

Arsenals though are aid to be firm favorites as they are prepared to trigger Partey`s 50 Million buyout clause in the summer.

The new offer for the Black Stars midfielder will see his release clause rise up to 93 Million according to reports in Spain.

However, negotiations have been halted due to the uncertainty surrounding the culmination of the campaign.

Partey has been an integral part of Diego Simeone`s team this season making 24 LaLiga appearances and 8 Champions League in the suspended 2019/20 season.
