The Queenmother of Ejisu, Nana Yaa Asantewaa II has divulged that her inspiration for establishing a vocational school in the Ejisu Municipality was to curb teenage pregnancy and provide the youth an ambition towards the future.

 

 

She addressed that the school is an empowerment especially to position the female gender into earning higher incomes to become responsive and better mothers in managing their personal lives and families.

 

 

“The young ladies after two or three children ends up throwing away their lives,” she said.

“Controlling teenage pregnancy has been my greatest priority since I became the queenmother hence the establishment of the school to empower ladies through dress and hair making, tie and dye, shoe making and any trade you want to acquire,” she said.

The Queenmother gave the assurance at the celebration of her 20th Anniversary as the Ejisuhemaa on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at Ejisu. The Nana Yaa Asantewaa Vocational School is recognized as an institution capable of equipping  people with skills and developing them to make a meaningful impact in the country.

Nana Yaa Asantewaa II further expressed that although the school was inaugurated to galvanize the life of people in the Ejisu Community and surrounding towns yet people from far are not restricted from enrolling.

 

 

“I entreat each and every one to enroll in the school. Our doors are opened to all people; whoever is interested in learning a trade is welcome,” she said

"The Youth must quit involving themselves in partisan acts and focus on learning a trade for the welfare of their future. The expectations of man matters most than what we see today hence the need to acquire and polish your skill and a young man and woman today,” she ended.
