Groundbreaking to begin works

The Obuasi East District Assembly is poised of bringing development into the district.

One of the major challenges currently at Christ the King Catholic Senior High School is the lack of toilet facility, a worry to students and teachers as well.

Meanwhile the Presiding Member of the District, Hon. Jeff Kwadwo Agyei, on behalf of the District Chief Executive, Hon. Faustina Amissah and the Member of Parliament, Hon. Dr Patrick Boakye Yiadom have cut sod for the construction of a 20 Seater Water Closet toilet facility at Christ the King Catholic Senior High School to improve sanitation.

The project which is financed through the District Development Fund (DDF) is expected to end the perennial sanitation issues in the school.

He told that the Sanitation resolution is very dear to the President of Ghana hence the need to take steps to improve the condition of the school before promising more developmental projects to be soon withness in the school.

Handing over the project to Banahene construction, the constructor for the project stressed that, all things been equal, the project is expected to reach completion in the next four months.

The District Director of Education, Mr Kwabena Owusu Nketia took the opportunity to thank the District for aiding the school with such a project.

The Assembly Member for the area Hon. Daniel Obeng advised students to take very good care of the facility when completed for its purpose of enhancing sanitation to be achieved.

Soireenews in an exclusive interview with Mr Samuel Twumasi Ankrah, headmaster of the school, was impressed with the move by the Assembly. He however pleaded with the assembly to assist the school with a dormitory block, teachers bungalow to make teaching and learning flexible and easier for the students and staff.
