Good policies by the Chief Executive Officer of COCOBOD, Joseph Boahen Aidoo yielded 1m metric tones of cocoa says Mr Emmanuel Anokye, Bono, Bono East and Ahafo Regional  Manager of Cocoa Health and Extention Officer.

The Bono, Bono East and Ahafo Regional  Manager of Cocoa Health and Extention Officer, Emmanuel Anokye, says the good policies implemented by the Chief Executive Officer of COCOBOD, Joseph Boahen Aidoo has yielded Ghana achieving its long target of 1m metric tones of cocoa in the 2019 to 2020 cocoa season.

The policies include; hand pollination, cocoa irrigation project, cocoa rehabilitation and creation of cooperatives farmers.

Mr Emmanuel Anorkye was speaking to Soireenews Sulley Dramani in Goaso, Ahafo Regional capital at the Annual General Meeting and 10 years Anniversary Celebration of Asunafo North Municipal Co-Operative Cocoa farmers.

The President of Asunafo North Municipal Co-Operative Cocoa farmers, Mr Daniel Amponsah Gyinaye who allayed fears about the recent rainfall pattern in the region urged the Forestry Commission and government to flash out illegal chainsaw operators who invade all government forest reserves to protect the production of cocoa.

Mr Patrick Owusu, Manager of Asunafo North Cocoa farmers also appealed to the Ahafo Regional Minister and all Municipal and District Chief Executives to ensure that all contractors on the road return to the site to enable farmers to transport their farm produce to market centres.
