CNN Releases List Of Africa's Biggest Musicians, Davido Excluded
American, news-based pay television channel, CNN has announced its list of top 10 Africa’s biggest stars in the music industry
Award-winning Nigerian singer, Burna Boy has topped off a stellar music year with a Grammy nomination and cemented his place as this year's breakaway music star.
His 19 track album, 'African Giant,' was nominated alongside music heavyweights including Angelique Kidjo and Altin Gun. He follows in the footsteps of Femi and Seun Kuti, (the sons of legendary musician, Fela Kuti) King Sunny Ade and other Nigerian music stars.
It has been a standout year for Burna Boy as American, news-based pay television channel, CNN released its list of top 10 Africa’s biggest stars in the music industry.
The list has five Nigerian music stars in its compilation.
Unexpectedly top of the list is Afro-pop singer, Burna Boy while other Nigerians on the list are Yemi Alade, Tiwa Savage, Wizkid and Mr Eazi.
Shockingly, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido was conspicuously excluded on the list and this has caused a lot of eyebrows being raised by industry watchers and enthusiasts.
