CLOGSAG Strike Action Takes Effect In Northern Region

The Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG), has today, Thursday, January 20, 2022, beginning an indefinite strike across the country to demand better conditions of Service.

According to the Association, over a year after their proposed salary structure was sent to the Finance Ministry to deal with it, they are yet to communicate anything to them despite persistent reminders.

Members of the association in all ministries, government agencies, and departments, have been charged by their leadership to boycott work until further notice.

A statement from CLOGSAG ahead of the strike noted that the association has followed due process as it had served all relevant stakeholders with notice of the action since December 22, 2021.

Monitoring the strike action at the Tamale Metropolitan Assembly and the Northern Regional Coordinating Council, this afternoon, the offices of the CLOGSAG members were closed.

However, a member of the Association by the name of Mr. Emma Frank at the Coordinating Council was met relaxing in the office at the time Soireenews visited.

He used the opportunity to appeal to the government through this portal that both parties should come to the negotiating table else the state will lose a lot.

According to him, if the government cannot fulfill its demands immediately, he should spell out the way forward.

Mr. Wilson furthers drow his full support to the strike action, stating that the increment of goods and services is affecting their pockets.
