Manchester City are set to allow Sergio Aguero to decide when he leaves the club, report the Daily Mail.

The 31-year-old became the Premier League’s most prolific overseas goalscorer on Sunday after scoring a hat-trick in the 6-1 win over Aston Villa.

He overtook Thiery Henry, the holder of the record during his days at Arsenal.

Aguero’s contract at City expires at the end of next season and he has previously expressed a desire to rejoin his boyhood club Independiente in Argentina before the end of his career.

Aguero has now scored 177 goals in 255 Premier League games, two more than the 175 goals managed by former Arsenal striker Henry.

The 31-year-old joined City from Atletico in 2011 and has won 12 domestic trophies in that period.
