THE Volunteers from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) at Nkoranza under the Techiman Ghana District in the Bono East Region have conducted a clean-up service at the Peace of Christ Community (PCC - Hand in Hand Community) in Nkoranza a couple of days ago.

The event was part of the All-Africa Service Project, an annual initiative that promotes community service and kindness towards neighbors and fellow humans.
The volunteers chose to clean the Hand in Hand community, a facility for people with intellectual disabilities, to show their love and support.
President of the Techiman Ghana District of the church, Adu-Sarfo Tony, emphasized the importance of service, saying, "Service brings great blessings during difficult times. We consider others as ourselves".
He encouraged stakeholders to assist people in need and make a positive impact in their communities.
The Care Director for Peace of Christ Community, Dasebre Emmanuel, expressed gratitude for the clean-up service, highlighting the challenges faced by individuals with disabilities in the community.
"Unfortunately, individuals with disabilities in communities often faces stigma with their conditions, mistakenly attributes them to "evil spirits", Dasebre cried out.
He urged communities to avoid neglecting people with mental and physical disabilities, emphasizing that they are not inherently evil.
The All-Africa Service Project includes various initiatives, such as blood donation campaigns, painting activities, tree planting, pothole filling, cleaning gutters, weeding, and maintaining community buildings and roadsides, as well as food and clothing donations.
