Chiefs And Residents  Lament--Over Abandoned Of Gomoa Mpota Community Clinic In The Bush!
Daniel Nana Duah, Secretary to the Gomoa Mpota Stool speaking to this reporter in an interview at the site of the project which was abandoned
Chiefs and residents of Gomoa Mpota in the Central Region have appealed to government of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to help in the completion of the Gomoa Mpota Community Clinic which has been abandoned in the bush.
The Gomoa Mpota community clinic was meant to provide healthcare to residents.
However, six and half years now, the project which was undertaken during the regime of the former President John Dramani Mahama led National Democratic Congress (NDC) remains abandoned.
During a recent visit to Gomoa Mpota, this reporter saw the uncompleted project abandoned on-site in the bush.
"We are pleading with government to complete the clinic for us to help patients because when someone needs to be sent to the hospital it becomes a major problem when it is delayed due to the long distance, the Secretary for the Gomoa Mpota Stool, Mr. Daniel Nana Duah disclosed.

According to them, the chiefs and the people of Gomoa Mpota have worked hard to get a health centre under construction.

He pointed that the project when completed  would serve the the people of Gomoa
Mpota was completely abandoned in the bush.
Speaking to the Media recently at Gomoa Mpota on the state of the health facility, Nana Duah noted that the state of the clinic is so pathetic that even if emergencies like snake bite, births, and others occur the residents out there have to travel far to get medical attention.
He noted that MPs and DCEs come and go since 2016 but they could not get the project completed till now.
Nana Duah however singled out former MP for Gomoa Central, Honorable Rahael Apoh and Ex–DCE, Mr. Jehu Appiah for providing iron sheets and bags of cement towards the completion of the project but these materials  were not enough to complete the health providing facility.
Nana Duah appealed to the sitting DCE and the current MP as a matter of agency to come in to complete the project.
"For now out of desperation they are forced to use their information Centre facility for National Community Health Planning and Services (CHPS) Compound.
"It is unfortunate that information centre where much noise is made is also used as a place where women give birth, weighing of babies take place, and emergency medical cases are also attended to on daily basis," the secretary complained bitterly.
He noted that it is so sad that the facility is left to deteriorate in the bush for a very long time.
He also called on the Minister for Health and his officers to quickly intervene to get the facility completed for the people to start using it and stop going far away Winneba and Kasoa to  seek medical services.
The Chief of Gomoa Mpota, Nana Appiah Baidu VII who was also present during the interview confirmed that the Chiefs and people of Mpota have been forcing for a long time to get the project completed but unfortunately the project has remained in the bush uncompleted up till since 2016 when it started.
The scores of residents of Gomoa Mpota who spoke to this reporter pleaded with the government to intervene to complete the project to save lives and make life easier and more comfortable out there.
