The Chief of Kwasikrom in the Sefwi Bodi district of Western North Region, Nana Ogyeaman Kwasi Suamena II, has evoked on galamseyers in his area to evacuate with all their machine from the stool lands, especially from the water bodies in an intervention for the protection of Kwasikrom water bodies as illegal miners (galamsey) have taken over and are exacerbating the water bodies.
He bemoaned that all efforts to get them out of the community by the government had proved futile and in vain, therefore taken it upon him to intervene to help fight against the galamsey menaces in his community.
Speaking in an interview with Nyamekye Radio monitored by Soireenews.com, Nana Ogyeaman said the galamseyers had taken over the lands and essentially the water bodies in Kwasikrom and its environs.

He cautioned the galamseyers in detest to leave the sites with 2 weeks ultimatum to foil the activities of the illegal mining in the area.
"I have given just 2 weeks to the galamseyers to leave the community and its enclaves else I'll be on ground to take serious actions", he stated
