Chief of Klo Agogo in the Yilo Krobo Lements Over Poor Road Network.

The Chief of Klo Agogo in the Yilo Krobo Municipality of Eastern Region, Nene Odjejem I has said the area has been neglected to developments in the Municipality such as roads among others.

Speaking to Nene, he stated that, Klo Agogo, a farming community over the years produces a lot of food items and farm commodities that are being transported to the big cities such as Accra, Tema, Kumasi and nearby towns but commutes on a poor road network.

According to him, the deplorable nature of the road network from Sikabeng to Klo Agogo township makes it difficult for drivers and traders to come to the community for farm produce after harvest, a situation which is leading to the rotten of their major farm commodities.

"From Sikabeng to Klo Agogo here, in fact, the road is not good at all but this area has been the hub which produces a lot of foodstuffs and the road is short linking to Begoro and Kumasi".

He added that "the poor road has caused their neglect for them to get buyers for their food items, thou we have a market here but they can't come here due to the poor road"

In an interaction with some drivers, passengers and traders who plies the road, they appealed to the authorities to help fix the road as it poses danger to vehicles plying the road especially when it rains.

Speaking to the Yilo Krobo Municipal Chief Executive in the Eastern Region, Mr Tetteh Eric noted that, he has already informed the regional feeder roads director in the region about the state of the road a few months ago after the regional director inspected the roads.

He added that the roads in the area have become a major priority to the government to start the reconstruction from Sikabeng which links Begoro, Ehiamankyene to Osiem in the Fanteakwa South District.

He said the assembly in the meantime has awarded a contract to reshape the road awaiting full construction of the road to ease the stress from motorists plying the road.

He, therefore, assured the residents of Klo Agogo that, efforts are underway to construct the road and solve other challenges in the area which according to him is one of his topmost priorities to complete since his parents reside in the area.
