Pupils of Cherryfield Montessori school representing their various houses namely, Sapphires, rubies, diamonds, and Emeralds in the "Rep your Jersey" competition organized by the management of the school.
The Rep your Jersey competition was organized to help the pupils unearth their talents, learn other sports disciplines and adopt sportsmanship character.
Some of the sporting activities the pupils participated in included thug of peace, sack racing, soccer, oware, ludu, 3 in a Roll, and skipping among others.
Speaking at the event, the CEO of Cherryfield Montessori School, Ms. Magdalene Dzifa Adzanu explained that the Rep Your Jersey program formed part of the activities on the Schools’ calendar. She said the school is noted for holistic education for its pupils.
She said the program enabled the pupils to wear Jersey of any football club that they cherished or supported.
Cherryfield always likes to give her pupils holistic education, today we decided to take a break from our academic activity to have fun, Ms. Dzifa Adzanu emphasized.
She also indicated that even though it’s a fun-filled sporting activity, the program helps the pupils in several ways.
“It helps the students to build their confidence level and it helps the students to learn how to accept defeat.
It helps them to know that it’s not all about winning in any game but you may win you may lose, that is the beauty of sports. And at the same time, it helps them to develop sportsmanship the CEO stressed.
She, therefore, advised parents to encourage their wards to participate in sporting activities.
She added that parents must bring their ward to Cherryfield Montessori School as the future of your ward begins from Cherryfield.
