Chelsea star Lukaku to have thigh scan over injury

Belgium forward Romelu Lukaku has reportedly revealed that he has a 'minor issue' to his thigh and claim that he will have a scan before returning to Stamford Bridge.

The statement from the ex-Inter Milan striker has left Chelsea fans sweating on the fitness of their star man.

"I will have a scan of my thigh first before returning to Chelsea.

"I am struggling with a minor issue for a while which I need to thrash it out, and then I will return to Chelsea." Lukaku told HLN.

The Blues new signing star from Inter Milan scored twice in the 5-2 thumping of Estonia on Thursday, and also scored the opener in Sunday's 3-0 win against the Czech Republic.

Lukaku has scored three goals in two games for Belgium over the international break, backing up his fine start to the season with Chelsea.

The World Cup qualifier on Sunday was Lukaku's 100th cap for Belgium, during which he has scored 67 times.

Belgium boss Roberto Martinez has been high in his praise of Lukaku.

"I think he is a living iconic figure of Belgian football. One hundred caps, 66 goals, at his age. He has a phenomenal attitude.

"I hope he can go onto 125 or maybe 150 caps. Sometimes you take for granted what we have. These players don’t come often." Belgium boss Martinez said.

Lukaku has impressive performance for Chelsea since arriving from Inter Milan has been incredible.

He scored against Arsenal on his second debut for the club, and showed glimpses of his ability in the 1-1 draw against Liverpool at Anfield.
