He indicated that his agenda when given the opportunity to lead the party as the General Secretary is to solidify the structures within the party, as well as the credibility and fortunes of the party in general.
He emphasized that the dynamics going into the 2024 elections and future events are exclusively different from what the party and its leadership had experienced, adding that “the new season calls for new but great leadership.”
He noted that the NPP has accomplished great feats yet there is more to be undertaken to modernize it and make it more effective in dealing with its internal affairs as much as it aims at winning the votes of the Ghanaian electorate.
The General Secretary hopeful indicated that the change he wishes to affect in the party is anchored on inclusiveness and sustainable collaborations within the party and with the government.
"I am a member of the national council of the NPP and the reasons why l decided to clip up to the General Secretary position of the party has stemmed from the fact in 2024 we are going for elections, and that l believes that we have to break the eight years agenda of the NPP.
"We have to come up with innovative strategies with the new crop of leaders to win the 2024 general elections and l know that lam the best to be elected by the delegates and members of the NPP to bring the eight jinx.
"I am not saying that those who are in the current leadership positions have not performed to manage the party but l mean that l have vast experience to annex the General Secretary position of the NPP to lead the party to win the 2024 general elections," he added.
He said that everyone has contributed his or her quota to the development of the NPP.
"But l always said that each time or every time has its leader and he thinks "our NPP is a very efficient political party and l think its needs to be managed effectively this time round to break 8 years circle or jinx.'
He asserted that the NPP needs to be modernized and that "our forefathers left them with the great party and going forward we need to modernize to be abreast in the times, so this is one of the reasons that l am contesting for the position of the General Secretary of the NPP."
He stressed that 6000 delegates are going to vote based on their preferential choices and that the NPP is the democratic party that believes rule of law.
He indicated that he did not think that the statement reported having been made by the incumbent General Secretary of the NPP, Mr. John Boadu that nobody should contest him was a decision that the leadership of the party would accept.
For Mr. Bissue, he thinks that if Mr. John Boadu claimed that nobody should contest him and that he should go unopposed then he believes that he should not be any contest at all.
He indicated that it is time for all the members to complete so that the party benefits from the contest.
According to Mr. Bissue, he has chosen to answer this question because the journalist just asked: "me although he did not have any idea of what the incumbent General Secretary has said in that regard."
He pointed out that when the time comes like it is important "we all bring our ideas together to compete and at the end of the race the party and country that benefit."
