Central Region: Thousands of Houses pulled down by Flood at Edina.

Residents at Edina Abee a farming community nearer to Ankaful Prisons Command in the Komenda Edina Eguafo Abirem Municipality of the Central Region have been rendered homeless by a flooded River ( Surowi) which pulled over thousands ( 1000) of their houses.

When soireenews visited the community, the residents were thrown into a state of mourn as all their properties ranging from electrical appliances, stuffed chairs, mattresses, certificates, and uniforms including some of the prison officers living in the area have all been taken away.

According to the residents, they were at home when they heard a noise of a flooded river approaching the town and after some few minutes, took over the whole town, pulled their houses down and made away with all their properties including their huge sums of money.

The majority of them are stranded and have no place to call their home and to sleep as well as having no food to feed themselves and their children since all their properties have been washed away.

They then appealed to  Member of Parliament Hounrable Samuel Atta Mills, their District Chief Executive, National Disaster Management Organization, philanthropists, and every individual to come to their aid by providing them with a temporal place to sleep.
