Borussia Dortmund's chief executive Hans-Joachmin Watzke says the German club will welcome offers for Jadon Sancho yet he does not expect clubs to meet the asking price of the England player.

The 20-year old has been linked to Liverpool and Manchester United with a price tag of £100m. Spain along the line was identified as a possible destination for Sancho after Real Madrid was speculated to be monitoring the winger yet his value seems scaring teams off.

“If Jadon approaches us and says he wants to leave no matter what – which has not happened so far – and a club wants to spend what we are asking for, we will discuss it.

“But I don't think a club will pay the fee we want.”

With the financial budgets of clubs crippled by the coronavirus pandemic, reluctance to spend big has become the norm of majority in the transfer window.

Liverpool have earlier lost Timo Werner to Chelsea after RB Leipzig disregarded their initial £30m bid. The manager attributed the Reds loss of the player to the influence of COVID-19 on the club's finances as some teams across the world asked players to take a salary cut when football went inactive for a few months.
