A 16-year-old girl of Gomoa Apra D/A Basic  School Diana Appiah died on the spot while the other girl is battling for her life after a Kia water Tank with registration number GW 561-11 lost control runs on them in Abandoned Stone Quarry pit at Buduburam.

The unfortunate incident happened at Asare-krom Near Buduburam in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region.

Some of the residents say the death of 15-year-old Diana Acquah brings to a total of  12  children that have died in the abandoned JF stone quarry.

Two weeks ago another seventeen-year-old teenager who had gone to the abandoned pit to swim also got drowned in the process.

Their worry is that
authorities have turned a death ear to the situation while innocent lives are lost.

Kweku Mensah, driver's mate of the Kia water tanker with registration number GW 561-11 said, his driver lost control of the vehicle while descending the hill to fetch water in the abandoned pit killing one and injuring another in the process.

For these residents, the continuous neglect on the part of authorities in closing down the abandoned pit is a worry and they want authorities to be up and doing to prevent more persons from dying.

Furthermore, Gomoa East Nadmo Director Robert Hackman said, the situation is getting out of hand he, therefore, called on National Nadmo Director and Minerals Commission to come to their aid else JF stone quarry owned by one Mr. Sarpong will kill all the future leaders Gomoa Buduburam, Gomoa Aprah, and Gomoa Asare-krom community.
