The management of Breman Brakwa Health Center in the Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa District of the Central Region has appealed to the general public and well-meaning organizations to come to their aid to equip the facility to save the facility from collapsing.

The management of Breman Brakwa Health Center in the Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa District of the Central Region has appealed to the general public and well-meaning organizations to come to their aid to equip the facility to save the facility from collapsing.
The medical officer in charge of the facility, Dr. John Asare Dadzie Mensah disclosed that the facility lacks hospital beds, oxygen cylinders, theatre, pediatric ward, emergency ward, and an expansion of the facility to meet polyclinic status.
He said hundreds of clients visited the facility every day but they referred most of the cases to other hospitals which posed threat to the lives of patients due to the above-mentioned challenges and also most patients found it difficult to afford transport fare charges.
He was hopeful that when the underlined problems or challenges of the facility were addressed it would help bring relief to patients and medical officials.
He made the statement when the Local Council of Churches in collaboration with the Corporate Brakwa Association, Brakwa Youth Development Association, Assemblymembers, and Nananom organized a fundraising ceremony that aimed at equipping the health center.
The District Chief Executive of Asikuma Odoben-Brakwa District, Mr. Lawrence Edutuah-Asiaw who was impressed by the action of the community members said he has had a series of meetings with the hospital authorities to see how best his outfit can help mitigate the challenges bedeviling the facility. 
Meanwhile, Chairman of the Local Council of Churches of Asikuma Odoben Brakwa, Very Rev. Albert Ocran Sackey who doubled as the planning committee chairman said they believed when the health officials are well resourced they can discharge their duties effectively hence the move to raise funds to equip the facility.
Lastly, the former MP for Asikuma Odoben Brakwa Constituency, Mr. Anthony Effah who has supported the hospital in many ways commended the Youth Association for their selflessness and commitment to help the hospital. 
He said health must not be despised for anything.
He however called on all sundry to emulate what the Asikuma Youth has done.
