Fourteen (14) people have died from the Covid-19 pandemic in the Bono Region, the Region's Health Directorate has confirmed.

The Bono Region has recorded 901 positive cases, with a total of 14 deaths between January and February 2021. 

The Bono Regional Deputy Director for Public Health, Dr. John Ekow Otoo revealed this during an interview with SN24 News Bono Regional Correspondent, Nana Ama Asiedu when giving updates on the regional status of the novel coronavirus.

According to him, active cases as of now stand at 161 with one patient in a critical condition while 3 other people’s cases are moderate.

He further explained that 247 out of the 901 confirmed cases were identified randomly after their visit to the health facilities while 644 were also tested positive for the virus during surveillance and contact tracing.

He stressed the need to observe all the protocols to help fight the disease as many people are unknowingly spreading the disease because they are not showing symptoms after being infected.

Currently, 19 more people have succumbed to the virus bringing the total death toll to 565 with 523 new cases.

However, 78, 271 cases have been recorded since the outbreak of the pandemic while actives cases stand at 7, 931.
