The high rate of maternal mortality is worrying in the Bono Region and the regional health directorate through zonal meetings has met with opinion leaders to find out the way forward to reduced the high rate of maternal mortality in the region

Bono Regional Health Directorate holds zonal stakeholders meeting on ways to reduce maternal death rate in the region

The Bono Regional Health Directorate has held a Zonal stakeholders meeting in the various Municipals and Districts in the Region.

According to the Directorate, the high rate of Maternal mortality is worrying in the Bono Region and the regional directorate through zonal meetings has met with opinion leaders and stakeholders to find out the way forward to reduced the high rate of Maternal mortality in the region.

One of the zonal meetings that was held in the Jaman South Municipal being the host of the two other districts including Berekum West and Jaman North District delibrate with the stakeholders on the ways to reduce Maternal death in the Bono Region. 

The increase number of Maternal death in the region has demanded a collaborative approach by involving opinion leaders and stakeholders such as Traditional leaders, Assembly members, Health volunteers, the clergymen and among others to support the fight in reducing Maternal mortality in the Bono Region. 

In a presentation by Linda Tagbor, the Bono Regional Safe Motherhood Focal Person urged the opinion leaders to be actively engaged their community members especially pregnant women to adhere to antenatal advices given them by health officials during pregnancy.

Jaman South Municipal Health Director, Akua Konadu also added that, comprehensive abortion care is very important to help the women understand the safest abortion
