Bono East Regional Minister discloses that  property rate collection in Bono East will go electronic in 2022

As the discussions on technology in Ghana heightens, the regional minister for Bono East Mr. Kwasi Adu Gyan has revealed that, collection of  property rates in the region will switch from the traditional method to digital in 2022. This comes days after Vice President, Dr Alhaji Mahmoud Bawumiah’s lecture on Ghana’s Digital Economy at Ashesi University.

Mr Kwasi Adu Gyan, who is also former Director-General of Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT has applauded the government for pursuing the digitization agenda.

The Regional Minister with his proficiency in technology and work experience with some technological giant companies, believes digitization will boost our growth as a country. 

Speaking to the media, Mr. Adu Gyan stated that it is in this regard that the Bono East Regional Coordinating Council has decided to start this initiative. He added that Ghanainas should embrace the digitization agenda to reduce corruption and increase revenue for development.

Concluding, he condemned opposition parties' antagonisitic attitude towards projects or developments by the ruling party. He asked that the opposition parties should all support the digitalization agenda for Ghana.
